The Top 5 Rookies of #PBA2015

The 2014 draftees gave a very good account of themselves this past season, and many of them have the makings of future stars. Stanley Pringle, of course, stands out in a big way, especially since he’s the newly-minted Rookie of the Year. And how about the other neophytes? They weren’t too shabby either.

Without further ado, here they are – the top five rookies of the 2014-2015 PBA season:

The Top 5 Point Guards of #PBA2015

The 2014-2015 season was a great year for point guards in the PBA. Gilas boys Jayson Castro, Paul Lee, and LA Tenorio were all impressive, while a couple of standouts rose from the roster of rookies. Veterans like Alex Cabagnot, Mark Barroca, and JV Casio also did well, while returnee LA Revilla made waves. Clearly, this is one position where the Philippines is not short on talent, but who were the cream of the crop?

The Top 10 Players of the 2015 PBA Commissioner’s Cup

The huge imports shook up the power structure and dominated in the Commish Cup, but that doesn’t mean the locals all shrunk into anonymity. On the contrary, many locals stepped up in the second conference. I mean, Greg Slaughter seems to be blossoming, Brian Heruela and Stanley Pringle have been great rookies, Jayson Castro and Paul Lee are tearing it up, and Gary David is turning back the clock. Who ranks among the top ten this conference? Let’s see.

The Top 5 Rookies of the 2015 PBA Commissioner’s Cup

Everyone’s default ROY this season seems to be Stanley Pringle. That’s not necessarily wrong, of course, since he has put up the best body of work SO FAR. Still, during the Commish Cup, he seemed to take a back seat to the likes of Brian Heruela and Matt Ganuelas-Rosser, and now that Pringle is in sick bay (and neck-deep in trade rumors), he slides further down from top-of-mind ROY convos. So in the event that Pringle doesn’t top the ladder in the second conference, who did?
