Chicago 120, Milwaukee 66
Milwaukee, WI (SportsNetwork.com) - The Bulls finally eliminated the Bucks, beating them so soundly in Game 6 that Milwaukee resorted to playground bullying. Chicago did its damage on the scoreboard, cruising to a 120-66 drubbing and a date with the Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference semifinals. The 54-point margin was third largest in NBA playoff history, just four points shy of the 133-75 shellacking Minnesota put on St. Louis on March 19, 1956. It was also the most lopsided postseason game for both franchises. Mike Dunleavy led the Bulls with 20 points and was the victim of an egregious Giannis Antetokounmpo body check late in the second quarter. Derrick Rose totaled 15 points, seven assists and five rebounds and was given the fourth quarter off with the game well in hand. The upstart Bucks made it a competitive series with two straight wins after going down 3-0, but they trailed from start to finish and showed little fight other than in ways that resulted in technical fouls and ejections. Jason Kidd emptied his bench and all 13 players scored, with Zaza Pachulia's eight points leading the way. Milwaukee turned it over 18 times and shot just 4-of-19 from 3-point range.
LA Clippers 102, San Antonio 96
San Antonio, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - A late offensive goaltending call went the Clippers' way Thursday and helped set up a decisive battle in Los Angeles. Blake Griffin totaled 26 points, 12 rebounds and six assists, and the Clippers beat the Spurs in San Antonio 102-96 to avoid elimination and extend what has turned into a thrilling first-round Western Conference series. Chris Paul recorded his second straight double-double with 19 points and 15 assists, DeAndre Jordan put up his usual 15 points and 14 rebounds, and J.J. Redick chimed in with 19 points for the victors. An already action-packed sports Saturday featuring the Kentucky Derby and Mayweather-Pacquiao megafight gets a Spurs-Clippers winner-take-all Game 7. The defending-champion Spurs had won their last seven potential closeout games at home but allowed the Clippers to shoot 47.5 percent from the floor and were outscored 18-2 in fastbreak points. Marco Belinelli poured in 23 points on 7- of-11 shooting from behind the arc, Tim Duncan added 12 points and 13 rebounds, and Boris Diaw scored 17 in defeat.
