KIA CARNIVAL over NLEX ROAD WARRIORS, 85-82

Kia’s Hyram Bagatsing nailed a clutch three-pointer with one second remaining to give his Carnival squad a stunning 85-82 victory over NLEX in PBA Governors’ Cup action on Monday at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.
Kia led by nine points, 80-71, with six minutes remaining but went scoreless in nearly four minutes as NLEX came back to tie the game at 82-all with 15 seconds remaining.
But Bagatsing came up huge for his team, saving them with a game-winning triple in their final offensive possession that gave the Carnival their second win in three games this conference.
Asian import Jet Chang scored 15 points, all in the second half and nine in the fourth quarter, while LA Revilla finished with 15 as well.
Bagatsing posted eight points and four assists in the win.
Kia trailed by 14 points, 50-36, at the half.

TALK N TEXT TROPANG TEXTERS over ALASKA ACES, 104-103

The Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters got a big boost from the return of veteran Ranidel De Ocampo as he helped the team narrowly escape Alaska, 104-103, in a PBA Governors’ Cup thriller on Monday at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.
Talk ‘N Text needed to survive some late game heroics from Alaska’s JVee Casio, who scored six of the Aces’ last eight points.
Casio knocked down a three-pointer with eight seconds remaining before helping force a turnover on De Ocampo on the other end. But the Tropang Texters’ defense held firm on the last play, getting a huge stop to escape with the win.
Import Steffphon Pettigrew scored 27 points on 10-for-17 shooting and grabbed 16 rebounds to lead the way for Talk ‘N Text, while rookie Matt Ganuelas-Rosser added 17 points, including some highlight-reel dunks.
De Ocampo finished with 13, including three big shots in the fourth quarter to help preserve the win for the Tropang Texters.
Larry Fonacier had 12 points, while Asian import Sam Daghles had nine points, four rebounds and a game-high 11 assists.
Alaska’s Romeo Travis had 26 points and 10 rebounds, while Casio finished with 21 markers in the loss.
