RAIN OR SHINE ELAST-PAINTERS over TALK N TEXT TROPANG TEXTERS, 88-73
Box scores.
The Rain or Shine Elasto Painters fell behind early but came back strong with a big second half effort to get some measure of revenge on the Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters, 88-73, on Saturday in an out-of-town PBA Governors’ Cup clash at the USLS Gym in Bacolod, Negros Occidental.

Rain or Shine and Talk ‘N Text met for the first time since their grueling best-of-seven series in the Commissioner’s Cup finals. The Tropang Texters came up on top to win the title back then, but the Elasto Painters made sure the outcome would be different this time around.

Wendell McKines posted 28 points and 16 rebounds while Raymond Almazan, who was scoreless in the first half, scored 10 over the last two periods, where the Elasto Painters outscored the Tropang Texters by 22 points, 52-30. Jeff Chan also finished with 10 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists.

Talk ‘N Text managed to take a lead of as high as 11 points in the third quarter, before Rain or Shine took care of business late to rout their opponents.

Steffphon Pettigrew paced TNT with 17 points, while Jayson Castro added 16 markers. They, however, combined for a woeful 13/36 FG shooting.

Line of the Game: Wendell McKines (ROS) - 28pts, 16rebs, 3asts, 2stls, 12/19 FGs.
