THAILAND over MYANMAR, 97-60

- A day after succumbing to host Singapore, Thailand bounced back with a shellacking of Myanmar to build some momentum heading into the near-impossible task of beating the Philippines in the knockout semifinals. Wutipong Dasom played 30 minutes and scored 22 points to lead the Thais, who finished second in three of the last four editions of the SEA Games. Veteran Attaporn Lertmalaiporn and big man Teerawat Chanthachon contributed 17 and 16 points respectively for the victors, while Justin 1 paced the losing side with 17 markers.

CAMBODIA over VIETNAM, 78-60

- Cambodia nailed its second win of the tournament, defeating Vietnam to close the preliminary round on a bright note. It was a close game early on before Cambodia opened things up in the second quarter and never looked back. Sopheen Toun led the way with 21 points and 7 rebounds, while Sak Ratana added 20 markers, 8 boards, and 5 steals. On the other end, Thanh Nhan Nguyen and Han Minh Trieu each dropped 17 points to pace Vietnam, which ended its preliminaries with a 1-3 record.

MALAYSIA over TIMOR-LESTE, 77-28

- Malaysia is no longer in the running to finish on the podium, but that didn’t stop them from totally outclassing Timor-Leste. Star forward Ivan Yeo played sparingly here, scoring 5 points, but he was hardly needed as Vincent Choong and Liaw Chee Huei scored a combined 27 points to lead Malaysia. No Timorese scored more than 8 points. Malaysia, despite failing to make it to the medal round here, will go on to play in the 2015 FIBA Asia Championship.
