#PBA2015 Govs Cup Finals Game 3: Beermen one win away from another title!

The San Miguel Beermen moved within a win of sweeping the Alaska Aces and annexing the 2015 PBA Govs’ Cup crown after winning in Game 3, 96-89.


Once again, AZ Reid was too hot to handle for the Aces.

San Miguel import Arizona Reid came up big once again for the Beermen, exploding for 41 big points as he led the Beermen to a 96-89 Game Three victory over Alaska for a commanding 3-0 lead in the PBA Governors’ Cup Finals on Wednesday at the SMART-Araneta Coliseum.

Reid also had 12 rebounds to go with his game-high scoring output, which followed a 37-point performance in Game Two. PBA MVP June Mar Fajardo, meanwhile, had 14 points and 18 boards, while Alex Cabagnot added 13 markers in the win.


San Miguel outscored Alaska, 20-12, in the fourth quarter.

Alaska went off to a solid start, jumping out to a 19-12 lead before San Miguel scored 11 unanswered points, which included a big dunk from Fajardo, as the Beermen took a four-point lead that they would hold until the end of the period.

Alaska led, 52-48, at the half, but San Miguel’s Reid led all scorers with 22 big points in the first two periods. Sonny Thoss had 10 points and 5 boards to pace Alaska with import Romeo Travis and Abueva both chipping in eight markers.

The teams traded rallies in the third quarter, but Romeo Travis kept Alaska ahead, 77-76, entering the final frame.

The Beermen saved a big push for the fourth quarter with Reid spearheading a 10-0 San Miguel run that put them in front, 91-85, with under three minutes left to play.
