#SEABA2016 Stankovic Cup Day Three Roundup

"The Bus Driver" Jio Jalalon led the Gilas Cadets past Singapore on Day 3.


The Gilas Cadets continued their winning ways in the 2016 SEABA Stankovic Cup, outgunning Singapore on Day 3 even as Malaysia notched their first win at the expense of Indonesia.

- The Filipinos built a double-digit lead early in the game and repulsed a late rally by Singapore to record their second win of the tournament. The backcourt trio of Jio Jalalon, Almond Vosotros, and Mike Tolomia torched the nets here, combining to score 43 points. The Philippine team also won the battle of the boards, 46-21, with Reymar Jose and Troy Rosario each grabbing 9 rebounds. Delvin Goh paced the Singaporeans with 17 points, while John Ng added a dozen markers.

Box scores. 
- This game started tight, but the Malaysians broke out in the second period and coasted to the blowout win. Yi Hou Wong led the way for the victors with 24 points on 8/13 FG shooting, while Tian Yuan Kuek added 15 points and 6 rebounds off the bench. Budding young star Ivan Yeo scored just 2 points, but he did rule the glass with a dozen caroms for the winners. Yerikho Tuasela, meanwhile, was the only Indon to score in double-figures with 17.

Line of the Game: Yi Hou Wong (MAS) - 24pts, 6rebs, 1stl, 8/13 FGs.

Yerikho Tuasela's scoring spree wasn't enough for Indonesia to win.
